Fano

Located in the province of Pesaro-Urbino, Fano is the third most populated city in the Marche; it is also known as the "City of Fortune", from its Roman name Fanum Fortunae, reminiscent of the Temple of Fortune, perhaps built in memory of the famous Battle of the Metaur during which the Roman legions managed to destroy the army of the Carthaginian general Asdrubal.

Roman historic center, it was Caesar Octavian Augustus who built the walls that still surround the historic center, where the remains of the Vitruvian Basilica have recently been found during some archaeological excavations.

Fossombrone

A city rich in history that stands in the middle valley of the Metauro, on the path of the ancient Via Flaminia, halfway between the Adriatic Sea and the Apennines. The city, against the backdrop of the splendid Furlo Gorge, appears as a narrow network of noble buildings from which the church bell towers rise and you can breathe the relevant historical, artistic and cultural events.

What today is the main street of Fossombrone, was since Roman times the route of the Via Flaminia, the consular road that led from Rimini to Rome, traveled by a continuous flow of people, goods, travelers.
